Interior Styling On New Purchase - Burleigh Heads Family Home
This residential interior styling project quickly became a favourite for the Bungalow Interiors team. Having collaborated with this client on several previous homes, we hold a deep understanding of their aesthetic preferences and the unique needs of their family.
This newly built Burleigh Heads residence beautifully embodies the quintessential “green to gold” transition nestled against a lush rainforest backdrop and reaching toward the sand and surf beyond. The home reflects a modern coastal sensibility, with white-limed walls, sandstone, marble, and stone accents grounded by blonde floorboards and terrazzo tiles. With sweeping curves, expansive volumes, and soaring ceilings, the spaces are architecturally grand. Our focus was to honour this scale while balancing proportions and infusing abundant warmth.
Prior to this project, we completed a full styling of the family’s Sovereign Island mansion, which was sold fully furnished. As a result, this new home required an almost complete furniture replacement, enriched with fresh layers of personalisation.
With the family dispersed across Australia and around the world, this home was designed as a sanctuary, a place where everyone can gather and unwind in comfort. The brief called for individual spaces that remained connected through a sense of warmth and effortless luxury. This was achieved through the placement of voluptuous, statement furniture pieces, anchored by plush oversized rugs and elevated by layers of tactile fabrics.
The colour palette pays homage to the Gold Coast in autumn—featuring rust, chocolate, ochre, soft mint, sage, and sea mist. Each of the five ensuited bedrooms was transformed into a cocoon-like retreat, wrapped in cohesive wallpaper that continues seamlessly into the communal areas, creating a thread of continuity throughout the home.
The result is a tranquil, sophisticated sanctuary rich in comfort, grounded in nature, and deeply reflective of the family who inhabits it.
'Bungalow Interiors were our first and only choice when we decorated our home. We love their design choices and left all of the decisions up to them. Their expertise, communication and knowledge of current design trends provided us with really appealing design solutions beyond anything that we could imagine. They were able to re-work some of our existing furniture into the mix, and still keep it looking fresh and fabulous. We would not hesitate to use them again and again, and again…..They are a great design team.'
