Interior Styling On New Purchase

This residential interior styling project quickly became a favourite for the Bungalow Interiors team. Having worked with this family across several previous homes, we brought a deep understanding of their aesthetic and the way they live together.

Set in Burleigh Heads, the newly built residence captures the essence of the Gold Coast’s “green to gold” transition, framed by rainforest and extending toward sand and sea. Architecturally expansive, with sweeping curves, generous volumes, and soaring ceilings, the home called for an approach that honoured scale while introducing warmth and balance. White-limed walls, sandstone, marble, and stone accents are grounded by blonde floorboards and terrazzo, forming a calm, modern coastal base.

Following the sale of the family’s fully furnished Sovereign Island home, this project required an almost complete furniture reimagining. The brief was to create a sanctuary for a family spread across Australia and beyond, a home designed for gathering, retreat, and ease. Individual spaces were connected through a shared sense of warmth and relaxed luxury.

Voluptuous statement furniture, oversized rugs, and layers of tactile fabrics bring softness and comfort, while the palette draws on the Gold Coast in autumn, with tones of rust, chocolate, ochre, soft mint, sage, and sea mist. Each of the five ensuited bedrooms was conceived as a cocoon-like retreat, wrapped in cohesive wallpaper that flows seamlessly into the communal spaces.

The result is a tranquil, sophisticated home, grounded in nature and thoughtfully shaped around the family who inhabits it.
